Additional information

Burning instructions: Remove label before use. Burn within sight on a level, fireproof surface. Keep away from flammable objects. Keep away from children and pets. Do not burn for more than 3 hours at a time.

To make your candle last longer, always ensure that the wick remains centered and trim it down to 1/4" (5mm) before the first use and after each burn. The first time you light it, let the wax pool reach the edge to prevent tunneling. After blowing out the candle,  dip the wick into the wax to decrease smoking (then straighten), and gently fold down the edges to get the most use of the wax. Keep away from drafts.

Did you know that…

  • Beeswax is a very precious material. It takes about 12 hours for a worker bee to produce 8 flakes of wax, and about 1,000,000 flakes to produce 1 kg of wax. Each kilogram of wax also requires about 8 kilograms of honey!
  • Beeswax candles are clean burning (compared to paraffin candles, for instance) and in fact release negative ions that remove toxins and purify the air quality. This means they can be enjoyed also by people suffering from asthma or allergies.
  • If your beeswax candle develops a white coating, this is a sign of its pureness (just like crystallization in raw honey). It is called bloom, and occurs when the wax is exposed to cooler temperatures.
  • Leftover wax after burning your candle? Save and use it to “feed” other beeswax candles (extending their burn time) or make your own beeswax wraps!
